A. A. Phoenix

As a child, Ann loved to draw, paint and dance. She was enthralled by the vivid colors of her neighbor’s lush gardens and began dancing at the age of five. Her paintings reflect this early love of color and movement. She earned her degree in Fine Art from the University of Detroit in 1970 and did extensive post degree work at Wayne State University and College for Creative Studies.

Ann’s work has a freshness and spontaneity that evolved from years of artistic mastery as her involvement with improvisational music and dance. She is painterly in approach and her work is about color and images and how they interact. Much of her work projects a quality of radiance. Ann continually experiments with different approaches and mediums and works with many forms of mixed media, including her own photo imagery. Ann is represented by Batista Gallery, Ferndale, Michigan Hospitals, Modern Engineering, Grant Thornton, BMP Publishing, and Harman Becker Corporation.
